Dental Implants

Find a tooth replacement that closely mimics both the strength, function and appearance of a natural tooth is very difficult. In the past, bridges and dentures were the only options, with limited results. However, recently, dental implants have provided a superior option with a tooth replacement that functions identically to the root of a tooth. Implants have also been used to anchor other dental restorations like dentures and bridges for increased ease and function.

A dental implant is composed of a titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone, where the bone fuses with the new root. A small portion of the implants is visible above the gum line – the abutment – which is used as the site to attach a natural-looking crown (or other restoration, such as dentures).
